THE VILLA

Stay

During your stay, all our organically grown products such as olive oil from our own farm and balsamic vinegar are free to take. Firewood for the fireplace and barbecue is also provided.

Other everyday products such as spices, cleaning products, tea towels, towels, bed linen, etc. are also available. The tap water comes from our own spring and is suitable for consumption.

The fruit from the countless fruit trees can be harvested for your own consumption depending on the season. Fresh, home-grown vegetables from our neighbors can also be delivered daily by arrangement.

Facilities:

The main house of the villa has 4 bedrooms, one of which is connected to an additional children’s room. All double bedrooms are air-conditioned and fully equipped. Three bathrooms, a fireplace or seminar room, a living room, a fitness room and a fully equipped kitchen are spread over a total of 400 m². Villa Margarita can therefore accommodate a total of 8 to a maximum of 10 people.

Pool & Fitness:

The pool is a salt water pool with a salt content of 0.7% (this corresponds to the salt content of tear fluid). This means that there is no irritation to the eyes or skin, as is the case with chlorine or similar cleaning methods. Here, too, we have placed particular emphasis on skin and environmental friendliness in order to do justice to the ecological concept and at the same time 100% purity.

The in-house fitness center can be used at any time at your own risk.

Maintenance:

Kitchen, heating, pool pump, etc. are explained and looked after on site by our Italian and German-speaking “good soul” Daniela. Daniela is also available at any time for other questions and concerns.

We look forward to hearing from you and making you an individual offer! We will also do our best to fulfill any special requests (cooking service, cleaning staff, transport, etc.).

Your perfect stay with added value is our profession!

A piece of home for peace and strength – history:

The building originally served as a farmhouse for cattle breeding and agriculture and was built around 1680 from clay and stones found on the property. The foundation walls and parts of the house, such as the sandstone fireplace in the living room, are still original from 1680.

In its more than 300-year history, the property has been owned by many administrators: from a peasant house to a frivolous hustle and bustle in the late 1880s, the house has housed many different people and witnessed a wide variety of events.

The building has of course been renovated and restored several times – most recently by us. With great dedication and attention to detail and in harmony with nature, we renovated the house over several years and completed it in 2017. During the renovation, we placed particular emphasis on using only high-quality and natural materials so as not to disrupt the symbiosis of nature and down-to-earth luxury.

For example, 24 tons of marble were specially selected and quarried for the property. We designed the garden to resemble a Roman temple, surrounded by olive groves and fragrant acacia forests.

Our own olive groves – the reflection of creativity:

The olive as a powerful symbol of strength and peace reflects the immense natural power of the reddish soil as a gift of nature. The plants of the area let you feel the pure power of the soil.

Let yourself be inspired by the unique nature, the rolling hills and the beautiful landscape, just as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Dante Alighieri, Amerigo Vespucci and Galileo Galilei were long ago. The inspiration of freedom, the love of beauty and the rediscovery of joy of life are usually noticeable within a few hours of arrival.

Nature is characterized by Mediterranean plants and trees, such as wild oranges, figs, cherries, acacias and, of course, olive trees. Lavender, roses and lemons lend an incomparable fragrance to the air, which mostly wafts in from the Mediterranean 30 km away. Lungs and spirit can breathe a sigh of relief here.

The waters of the healing springs of Montecatini have been known for centuries for their healing properties. To this day, kings and ruling houses know of the secret tip of the hot bubbling springs of purification. You can drink the water and within days you will notice how your entire body is cleansed of toxins, allowing you to start afresh, cleansed and invigorated.

Animals:

There are no dangerous animals per se, but wolves, wild boar, wild dogs, pangolins and foxes live in the forests. These are very rare to see and very shy. People are often afraid of scorpions, which may look dangerous, but their venom is comparable to that of a mosquito and therefore completely harmless. Wasps and hornets can be much more aggressive, which is why a doctor should be consulted as soon as possible after a hornet sting. The buzzards, which have been a resident family for several years now, are majestically graceful, circling over the house every day and evoking an infinite sense of freedom.

The area:

Due to its central location, Villa Margarita is the perfect starting point for various excursions and sightseeing tours in the surrounding area. Here are a few tips for excursion destinations that are definitely worth a visit:

Montecatini Terme, Pisa, Florence, Lucca, San Gimignano, Viareggio, Carrara, Siena, Vinci, Cinque Terre

If you don’t want to miss out on a visit to the beach in Italy, we particularly recommend the 5-star Teresita bathing establishment. The cheaper option for a nice day at the beach in the middle of the nature reserve is the “Dunadonda” beach section, as well as the free beach sections that are also available there. On the rocky cliffs near Livorno, the sea is particularly clear and beautiful, even if the descent into the sea is quite difficult.
